Lifeboat seeks urgent support as running costs rise

by Benjamin

An independent lifeboat charity has made a fresh appeal for support in the face of soaring running costs.

Nith Inshore Rescue covers the River Nith into the Solway Firth from its base at Glencaple.

It is only the second time in more than 40 years that it has appealed for help to cover costs – following a similar call two years ago.

Treasurer Jamie Milligan said they were grateful to those who already supported them but needed help to cope with a "huge rise in running costs" particularly in terms of insurance and energy bills.
